Save money on tools, equipment and more…
This Apprenticeship is about the recovery and repair of motor vehicles at the roadside.
It’s bad news when your car breaks down, especially miles away from home. We can’t do without the roadside assistance and recovery technicians who come to the rescue and examine the vehicle, carry out minor repairs, and safely tow it to a garage if necessary.
The technician’s job begins when they are notified of the whereabouts of a broken-down customer. Though they’re given basic information about the problem, there’s a lot they won’t know until they get there, so they need to travel prepared with spare parts, tools, battery chargers and even computers to check for faults.
As an Apprentice, you’ll be out on the road with an experienced vehicle recovery technician, assessing breakdowns and safely removing vehicles and transporting them to garages. Advanced Apprentices will be qualified to carry out roadside repairs, if possible.
This is a perfect role for those who like working on vehicles but don’t want to be in a garage all day. It involves lots of driving (so you’ll need a full driver’s licence) and weekend/overtime work, as well as good customer service skills.

Apprentice Zone is dedicated to helping young people understand the opportunities available to them across the apprenticeship sector by providing information, guidance, advice and some fantastic ways to save money.
For many young people, the thought of continuing in full time education through a college or university is completely uninspiring.
Apprenticships provide a gateway to learn a trade, earn money and gain formal qualifications.
Apprentice Zone also provides a portal for commercial organisations to promote their products directly to school leavers.
